In and around Duluth, there are several historic places where Indians inhabited this area well before the white man arrived.
The pictures below show markings which were carved onto trees to indicate stashes of food, weapons, and gold. Yes, these pictures were taken in Duluth - however - the exact location of these trees must remain a secret because they are now on private ground.
Located on the Chattahoochee River in Duluth are the remains of several Indian fish traps which can be seen from the banks of the river. Fortunately, vandals have not destroyed them.
